Platform: Keres Language Preservation

In the upcoming year, my contribution to the Acoma Pueblo would be to promote Keres Language Preservation and Youth Leadership Development. To represent my platform, I will always be expressing and learning in our community with my peers and younger generations to keep trying and not be afraid to learn. My Grandpa and Uncles always expressed that being afraid is always the hardest part. We are afraid of being laughed at when we feel like something wrong is said or making mistakes in our words, but it’s how we learn. Even learning the simplest words matter because our ancestors fought for us to continue our traditional way of life. To keep our tradition and cultural life, we must keep our language because that’s what makes us unique.
