Platform: Teen Suicide Awareness and Prevention

 

Guu’wadzii! My name is Mikayla Sarracino, My Acoma given name is Aaniyaitsa. I am of the Yellow Corn Clan from my Mother and Sky Clan from my Father. My Mother is Jolene Shroulote and my Father is Kevin Sarracino. I have one younger sibling named Amber Sarracino, and I have so many cousins that I am close to. My maternal Grandparents are the late John and Ruby Shroulote. My Paternal Grandparents are James and Viola Sarracino Sr.

 

I’m a Senior at Grants High School, and a dual credit student at NMSU-Grants Branch. My future ambitions include going to college and pursuing a Degree in Criminal Justice. My dream job is to become a Crime Scene Investigator or a Forensic Scientist. Learning what I know, I want to bring back my knowledge to the Acoma Community.

I would like to thank my family for supporting me in following my dreams, and for always encouraging me, and always being there for me. I would especially like to thank my parents and younger sister for shaping me into the person I am today, none of this would have been possible without you three! Finally, thank you to all the people who wished me well on this journey I am enduring, I promise to make you all proud and be the best Miss Pueblo of Acoma Teen possible”!
